Price, Spinoffs Revealed In Cherry Creek-The Montana Radio Company Swap

The details left out of the announcement WEDNESDAY of CHERRY CREEK RADIO's swap of Classic Rock KZMT (Z101), Country KBLL-F (99.5 THE BULL), Hot AC KBMI-F (B104), Adult Hits KHGC (98.5 DAVE FM), and News-Talk KCAP-A/HELENA to THE MONTANA RADIO COMPANY for K298BL, K280GG, and K260AU/GREAT FALLS and Silent KMTZ/WALKERVILLE, MT-BUTTE were the cash portion and the spinoffs, and with the deal's filing at the FCC, those details are now known.
The official designations show CCR-HELENA IV, LLC is trading KBLL-F, KZMT, KCAP-A, and K240EM/HELENA to TMRC; JLD MEDIA, LLC is sending KMTZ to CCR-BUTTE IV, LLC; and the three GREAT FALLS translators are going from TMRC to CCR-GREAT FALLS IV, LLC.
The spinoffs have TMRC donating Active Rock KKRK (ROCK 106.5)/HELENA and Classic Country KVMO (MO LEGENDS 96.3)/FORT BENTON-GREAT FALLS to MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY-BILLINGS and CCR-HELENA IV, LLC donating KBMI-F and KHGC to HI-LINE RADIO FELLOWSHIP, INC.
TMRC is also paying $1.89 million to CHERRY CREEK to complete the transaction.

In other filings with the FCC, WITHERS BROADCASTING COMPANY OF ROCK RIVER, LLC is selling News-Talk WSDR-A and AC WSSQ (Q94)/STERLING, IL and Classic Rock WZZT/MORRISON, IL to VIRDEN BROADCASTING CORP. for $400,000 plus a time brokerage agreement before closing.
XANA OREGON, LLC is selling K230BW/KENNEWICK, WA to CENTRO FAMILIAR CRISTIANO for $75,000 ($25,000 down and $50,000 in a secured promissory note in two payments of $25,000 each at four and seven months). The primary station is listed as ALEXANDRA COMMUNICATIONS Adult Hits KQFO (100.1 BOB FM)/PASCO, which airs Regional Mexican EXITOS 104.9 on its HD2 channel.
VALLEYDALE BROADCASTING, LLC is transferring W252BE/TARRANT, AL to SHELBY BROADCAST ASSOCIATES, LLC in exchange for "past engineering and consulting services rendered by Buyer to Seller up to and through the date of Closing."
BLAIR HEALING ROOMS, INC. has requested a Silent STA for KYTF-LP/BLAIR, NE while it raises money and mulls an antenna location change. The station simulcasts Regional Mexican WAYE-A (LA JEFA 98.3 FM)/BIRMINGHAM.
JENNIFER CREMEENS has applied for an STA to operate KJJB/EAGLE LAKE, TX, presently silent, at reduced power from the site for which it applied but which has not yet been approved; KJJB has lost its tower sire and a previous STA request was rejected.
LEE WESLEY DAVIS has filed for a Silent STA for KCOE-A/BEND, OR after losing the station's tower site due to a sale of the land.
EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has requested an extension of its Silent STA for K206BQ/HOLLISTER, CA after buying the station only to discover that the site was not going to be made available to it.
And SUN MOUNTAIN, INC. has applied for an STA for Top 40/Rhythmic KYLW-A (WILD 104.5)/LOCKWOOD-BILLINGS, MT to use an emergency wire antenna while it looks for an alternative tower site. The station simulcasts on K283CP/BILLINGS.
Also, COMUNIDAD HISPANA DE LOS ANGELES has dismissed its application for a new low power station on 97.5 FM in LOS ANGELES after objections by COMMON FREQUENCY, INC., LEE HUNTER ROBINSON, and REC NETWORKS.
In CANADA, ROGERS MEDIA INC. has applied to the CRTC for permission to buy Country CJDL (COUNTRY 107.3) and AC CKOT (EASY 101)/TILLSONBURG, ON (LONDON area) from TILLSONBURG BROADCASTING COMPANY LTF. for C$3.95 million.
And the CRTC approved an application by KLONDIKE BROADCASTING COMPANY to feed Hot AC CKRW-A (THE RUSH)/WHITEHORSE, YUKON TERRITORY with programming from its rebroadcasting transmitter CKRW-F/WHITEHORSE because the AM's tower's structural integrity has been compromised; the licensee plans to remove the AM tower and ask in a future application for permission to operate the FM as a primary programming origination station.
