CBS RADIO News-Talk WTIC-A/HARTFORD afternoon co-host ANDY GRESH is returning to CUMULUS News-Talk WPRO-A-WEAN/PROVIDENCE to host a new evening sports show, starting APRIL 17th.
GRESH, who will fill the slot left open by TARA GRANAHAN's move to middays, began his career behind the scenes at WPRO in 1997 and then co-hosted mornings at sister Sports WSKO-A (THE SCORE, now News-Talk-Business WPRV-A) before leaving in 2008 for ESPN RADIO and CBS RADIO Sports WFAN-A-F/NEW YORK. He moved to SIRIUSXM MAD DOG RADIO in 2009, CBS RADIO Sports WBZ-F (98.5 THE SPORTS HUB)/BOSTON in 2010, and WTIC in 2015. He also worked for the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS RADIO NETWORK in 2005-14.
“I’m excited to come back to where it all started for me 20 years ago. It’s time to turn nights at WPRO on its ear and let RHODE ISLAND take back its sports talk,” said GRESH.
PD TONY MASCARO added, “This market has waited almost 10 years to bring back local sports to the airwaves. I am so thrilled to welcome ANDY home. The combination of our heritage talk team and THE GRESH SHOW with sports at night and his unique style will give Rhode Islanders that perfect mix of local talk and local sports.”
