The latest addition to WNYC STUDIOS' podcast lineup is "NANCY," an LGBTQ show hosted by KATHY TU and TOBIN LOW. The show will post its first episode SUNDAY (4/9) and second episode on MONDAY, and then will post every SUNDAY through JUNE 18th; TU and LOW won the 2015 WNYC STUDIOS Podcast Accelerator competition.
“For NANCY, we wanted to make a podcast with stories we wanted to hear, where we don’t pretend to speak for everyone but instead ask questions about what makes people different and the same all at once,” said LOW. “I’m excited to take all of this on with my best friend, KATHY. You’ll hear about what it’s like to come up in the LGBTQ community today, the power of intersectionality, our relationships to our families and partners, and whether or not Dumbledore is actually gay.”
“NANCY is for anyone who’s ever questioned their identity,” said TU. “We want to reinforce that we’re here, and no one is alone. For TOBIN and me, this podcast is a culmination of our desire to hear more stories like ours from the LGBTQ community and also our love of making audio, which is where our friendship began.”
“I’m so excited for this podcast,” said VP/On-Demand Content PAULA SZUCHMAN. “When you hear KATHY and TOBIN together, you immediately want to live in their world, and that’s a rare thing to find. We’re thrilled to bring their fantastic chemistry and these memorable episodes to the world.”
