Radio advertising production agency OINK INK has announced the winner of its 18th annual Dead Radio Contest for radio spots deemed too edgy or risqué for clients or simply overlooked. EMMANUEL TORRES of CUNDARI's TORONTO office won this year's contest for an unproduced script for a 60-second FIXAUTO.COM spot, "Push." TORRES won a visit to OINK INK's NEW YORK studio AUDIO ENGINE and the production of his script.
“This script was born in one assignment. When I presented it to class, they laughed. It was pretty out there, but everybody got the joke,” said TORRES. “I’ve tried to bring it to other clients when it would work under their category, but the opportunity to run with it never happened -- until now.”
“EMMANUEL’s story -- how he actually wrote his script while at ad school -- is exactly what this contest is all about,” said OINK INK co-founder DAN PRICE. “We’re thrilled to have been able to rescue 18 spots that belonged on the air but for various reasons hadn’t been given the chance.”NEW YORK freelancer RICK ARDITO placed second for a spot for STARZ' "ASH VS. EVIL DEAD"; OKRP/CHICAGO's DANIEL JORDAN took third place for a GROUPON spot.
