Sigur Ros To Livestream Performance With L.A. Phil Friday, Release Cannabis-Infused Gumdrop

ICELANDIC avant-garde group SIGUR RÓS will livestream their performance with the LOS ANGELES PHILHARMONIC tomorrow night (APRIL 14th) via PITCHFORK, who will present the concert as it happens on their homepage and FACEBOOK LIVE, starting at 9p (PT)/12a (ET).

The show is one of three sold-out performances taking place at the WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL in L.A. this week, the band's first time performing original music with a full orchestra. The event will feature a 50-minute set of SIGUR ROS performing with the orchestra, followed by a second 50-minute set of the band performing as an unaccompanied trio. The orchestral set features unreleased songs as well as new arrangements by several special guests, including DAN DEACON, OWEN PALLETT, NICO MUHLY and ANNA MEREDITH, among others. 

Stated the band: "This is all new ground for us. It's been 15 years since we last played with an orchestra, and that wasn't even SIGUR ROS songs. The shows at the DISNEY HALL sold out fast, and only 4,500 people can get to experience it in the room. So we thought it would be good to let anyone who couldn't get tickets and people around the world have the opportunity to see how all it comes together. There's just one chance for us to rehearse with the L.A. PHIL ahead of time, so in all honesty we have no idea how this is going to go, but we promise it will be exciting."

In other SIGUR ROS news, the band have teamed with leading cannabis brand LORD JONES for a collaboration: limited-edition, WILD SIGURBERRY medicated gumdrops. Inspired by the flavors of foraged ICELANDIC berries -- wild blackberries, strawberries and blueberries -- the collaborative gumdrops include a proprietary formulation of terpenes available in five dosage options: five, ten and twenty milligram THC-infused, LORD JONES' signature 5:1 ratio CBD to THC formulation, and a pure CBD option.

The limited-edition offerings come as a box of nine pieces bearing a SIGUR ROS crest created by LONDON-based illustrator ANDREW RAE. The THC-infused varieties will be sold online through the LORD JONES website and at select dispensaries throughout CALIFORNIA to qualified medical marijuana patients, while the pure CBD version is available for nationwide delivery exclusively through the LORD JONES website.
