VICTORY RECORDS has entered a preliminary pact with TEXTANGO to make its catalog available for purchase by premium text message.
TEXTANGO allows users to bill purchases of full albums, EPs and singles to their cell-phone bills by texting a keyword to 23333. The customer receives an automatic text message reply containing a unique download code, which they enter in at the TEXTANGO website (www.textango.com) to download the music to their computers.
"TEXTANGO offers a revolutionary, alternative method for purchasing music," VICTORY owner TONY BRUMMEL said. "Studies have shown that possibly 89% of 12-26-year-olds with cell phones do not have a credit card. Without a credit card there is an immediate barrier to the purchase of online music. Music is impulsive by nature. TEXTANGO gives people the ability to purchase music anywhere at any time with their cell phones."
The new partnership will begin by making available the new releases from AIDEN, FOUR LETTER LIE, ENDWELL, MOROS EROS and SCARS OF TOMORROW. TEXTANGO works with all major cell-phone carriers with the present exception of T-MOBILE.
