Report: In Custody Case, Alex Jones' Attorneys Say His On-Air Persona Is 'A Character' And 'Performance Art'

Is ALEX JONES' radio act just that -- an act?  That's what the radio and internet personality's attorneys appear to be claiming in a bitter custody case playing out in AUSTIN, according to the AUSTIN AMERICAN-STATESMAN.

In the case, in which the syndicated host and INFOWARS founder is battling ex-wife KELLY JONES for custody of their three children, ALEX JONES' attorney RANDALL WILHITE recently told Judge ORLINDA NARANJO in a pretrial hearing that JONES is "playing a character.  He is a performance artist."  WILHITE suggested that judging JONES as a father would be akin to judging JACK NICHOLSON based on his "BATMAN" role of The Joker. 

KELLY JONES is pointing to ALEX JONES' on-air statements threatening people like Rep. ADAM SCHIFF (D-CA), JENNIFER LOPEZ, and ALEC BALDWIN and said that her ex is "not a stable person."  Among the evidence she plans to introduce are videos from INFOWARS with their 12-year-old son who ALEX JONES said is "undoubtedly cut out for this, and I intend for him to eclipse what I’ve done. He’s a way greater person than I was at 12... you’re a good little knight who’s going to grow up, I know, to be a great fighter against the enemy."  The judge said she would not allow one video in which JONES and controversial political operative ROGER STONE ranted against SCHIFF and JONES used a line from "TRUE GRIT" that warned a man he was about to be shot and killed, but she did allow another pair of clips to be used at trial.

President DONALD TRUMP has expressed his fandom for ALEX JONES, calling him "amazing" and repeating information he appears to have gotten from INFOWARS, including the claims that Muslims in JERSEY CITY cheered the 9/11 attacks, and appeared on INFOWARS as a guest in DECEMBER.  ALEX JONES has promulgated the claims that the murder of children at SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL was faked, the BOSTON MARATHON bombing was a "false flag" operation, and many other conspiracy theories; he is syndicated via GENESIS COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK.
