SONY BMG/NASHVILLE has announced the promotion of RENEE BELL to the position of Exec. VP/A&R. Previously BELL was Sr. VP/A&R.
The announcement was made by SONY BMG Chairman JOE GALANTE, who said: “RENEE's success in her signings has been a driving force in our industry for more than 20 years. She is the most respected and loved A&R executive in town. Some people get the ‘artist’ part of the job correct, but forget about the ‘repertoire.’ She gets them both right. And the quality of her staff and her leadership continue to reinforce her commitment to making sure that we’re effectively servicing not only our artists, but also the songwriting and publishing community. I am thrilled to now be working with her on the entire SONY BMG roster.”
BELL, a GAINESVILLE, FL native, began her career at MCA in 1984. She joined the RCA LABEL GROUP (now SONY BMG) in 1995.
BELL replaces MARK WRIGHT, who is going to UNIVERSAL SOUTH/NASHVILLE as Pres. (see story above).
