JACOBS MEDIA's TECHSURVEY13 -- which will have its debut at the upcoming WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2017 at noon on THURSDAY, MAY 4th – consists of more than 51,000 respondents representing well more than 300 radio stations across NORTH AMERICA.
The surveys were completed in JANUARY and FEBRUARY. THE JACOBS MEDIA team –- with partners NUVOODOO -– have been busily compiling the data and searching for new insights.
Here's a sneak peek at one of the key data points from the study:
A lot has been said about the vinyl revival. And it's been powered by people who already own or have purchased a turntable. In TECHSURVEY13, gadget ownership cover the gamut, from voice command devices to virtual reality headsets to turntables.
In TECHSURVEY13, more than one-third (36%) of respondents say they’re own a turntable. Men are especially likely to have one, along with Baby Boomers. But it’s also notable than one-fifth of Millennials.

JACOBS MEDIA Pres. FRED JACOBS, who will present TECHSURVEY13 at WWRS 2017, commented, "Turntable ownership continues to grow, and it’s remarkable to see how widely popular they’ve become. It’s not a surprise that male Boomers are more apt to have one, but the vinyl movement is impacting younger generations, too.”
JACOBS concluded, "There is a great deal of info about device ownership in TECHSURVEY13 to help radio better understand how its audiences consume media. We look forward to presenting the top-line findings at the WORLDWIDE RADIO SUMMIT 2017 in HOLLYWOOD this week, with TECHSURVEY13 results on Thursday, MAY 4th at noon. Hope to see you there."
