Joe Piscopo Says He's Not Running For Governor Of New Jersey

The headline "JOE PISCOPO Not Running For Governor" may have been a parody in another era, but in 2017 it's news and official: The former "SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE" comic actor and current SALEM News-Talk WNYM-A (AM 970 THE ANSWER)/NEW YORK host announced WEDNESDAY (5/3) that he will not run for NEW JERSEY's State House and will instead support Republican front-runner KIM GUADAGNO.

PISCOPO had teased running to replace Gov. CHRIS CHRISTIE, but said on his show WEDNESDAY that he had a "secret summit" with GUADAGNO over the weekend and had decided not to run. 

CHRISTIE, for his part, termed PISCOPO's abortive candidacy a ratings ploy for the radio show, joking, "I thought I was going to need to be hospitalized over the shock that JOE PISCOPO isn't running."
