WESTWOOD ONE is drawing attention to a study commissioned from NIELSEN that shows the effectiveness of advertising on its NFL radio coverage.
In the study, a major money transfer app was advertised on the game coverage and saw brand awareness jump 25% and usage of the app rise 21%. Brand image also benefited, with those hearing the spots 18% more likely to say that the app company offered a “convenient transfer of money," along with increases of trust and leadership images. On top of that, the campaign boosted awareness of other elements of the app's media plan, including digital, television, billboard/outdoor, mobile, and print advertising.
Best performers among the radio ads tested were those voiced by play-by-play talent, a substantial difference of 60% better than average.
