University Of Missouri's Nate Gatter Named STAA Jim Nantz Award Winner

UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI junior NATE GATTER has been named the winner of SPORTSCASTERS TALENT AGENCY OF AMERICA's 9th annual JIM NANTZ AWARD as the nation’s most outstanding collegiate sports broadcaster. GATTER is the first student from the U. OF MISSOURI and the third junior to win the award, which will be presented JUNE 26th at the NATIONAL SPORTS MEDIA ASSOCIATION's annual awards banquet in SALISBURY, NC.
"NATE is far ahead of the curve in his development as a sports broadcaster," said STAA CEO JON CHELESNIK. "The fact that he's already earned several professional sportscasting opportunities has further hastened his development."
Five other college sportscasters achieved STAA All-AMERICA honors, including ARIZONA STATE Senior JAKE GARCIA, FLORIDA Senior BEN MURPHY, and SYRACUSE Senior LOGAN RATICK, Junior EVAN STOCKTON, and Senior MICHAEL TRICARICO.
Judges for this year’s awards included CHELESNIK; USC football radio voice PETE ARBOGAST; DALLAS MAVERICKS broadcaster CHUCK COOPERSTEIN; LEARFIELD VP/Broadcast Operations TOM BOMAN; and former NANTZ AWARD winners ADAM CAVALIER, ALEX FAUST, KEVIN FITZGERALD, ROSS LIPPMAN, and BILL SPAULDING.
