SOUNDGARDEN was scheduled to headline EMMIS Alternative KPNT (105.7 THE POINT)/ST. LOUIS' "POINTFEST" this past SATURDAY (5/20) and the entire station concert was cancelled following the sudden passing of CHRIS CORNELL. The lineup for the "POINTFEST" concert at HOLLYWOOD CASINO AMPHITHEATRE was to also include STONE SOUR, PIERCE THE VEIL, GREEK FIRE, J. RODDY WALSTON & THE BUSINESS, BIFFY CLYRO, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, THE HUSH LIST, and MONSTER EATS MANHATTAN.
The statement on THE POINT website said: "It is with deep regret, we are announcing that due to the sudden passing of CHRIS CORNELL of SOUNDGARDEN last night, POINTFEST on SATURDAY is cancelled."
