Veteran talk host BRIAN WILSON has written his third book, and this time it's a departure from his previous political tomes. "WATERCOLOR MEMORIES: THE STORY OF LAUREN" is a story of love lost and regained.
WILSON, whose colorful career took him to WABC-A and WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK, KSFO-A/SAN FRANCISCO, WBSB (B104)/BALTIMORE, WZGC (Z93) and WGST-A/ATLANTA, and elsewhere, writes that the book "details that old high school love story told anew: Boy meets Girl, Boy loses Girl, Boy finds Girl. But this time, it takes 15 years, two proms, college, marriage, divorce, kids, careers, over 10,000 miles, a chess-playing cop and some strange guy with a beard. Even then, the ending is a surprise and a shock. Or maybe it isn’t. That’s the surprise! You may laugh. You may cry. Read slowly. Savor the story. It’s a lot better than the reviews.”
“My original scribblings of WATERCOLOR MEMORIES: THE STORY OF LAUREN first hit paper in MAY, 1981 after my partner (ROSS BRITTAIN) and I were brought in to do morning drive on WABC/NY radio," adds WILSON. "Being back in the metro area for the first time since 1964, I was inundated with memories of growing up on the WILSON Farm in WAYNE, NEW JERSEY (when there were still farms there), of childhood, adolescence, school and especially high school where the story began." After several starts and stops, WILSON finally finished the book with the encouragement of three high school friends, completing it close to the date of his first date with LAUREN (MAY 28th).
The new book is now available at Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle versions and at BarnesandNoble.com in paperback.
