Get well wishes go out to TOWNSQUARE MEDIA Talk WKXW (NEW JERSEY 101.5)/TRENTON "DEMINSKI AND DOYLE" afternoon co-host BILL DOYLE, who remains off the air after a series of ailments that followed treatment for bladder cancer in JANUARY.
Co-host JEFF DEMINSKI wrote at the station website that DOYLE, who has been off the air for three weeks this time around, returned from his cancer surgery after five weeks only to have to go for additional chemotherapy when the cancer was discovered to have spread to some lymph nodes. However, on MAY 8th, other symptoms, including dehydration, infection, and a low blood count sent him back into the hospital; after a brief rest at home, further symptoms sent him back to the hospital. DEMINSKI said that while DOYLE remains in the hospital, "The good news is they now say things are looking up."
DEMINSKI added, "This whole thing breaks my heart. Bill has been my broadcast partner since January of ’94. In addition to that, he’s been my longest most consistent friend. To see him going through this and me not being able to do a damn thing about it destroys me. Anyone who’s cared about someone going through cancer knows what I mean." Offering words of support for DOYLE and his family, DEMINSKI said that listeners' messages are being passed along to DOYLE through his wife.
While DOYLE recuperates, producer JOE VOTRUBA has been filling in as co-host.
