'Dinner Party Download' To Release Special Outdoor Episode, Accompanied By Parties

AMERICAN PUBLIC MEDIA's "DINNER PARTY DOWNLOAD" podcast is offering a special format-breaking summer episode with the help of a grant from the NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS that encourages listeners to go outside and reacquaint themselves with nature.  The episode, "Look Up and Listen," with guests NEIL DEGRASSE TYSON, FEIST, FLEET FOXES, and contributors to OUTSIDE magazine, was produced in collaboration with the NATIONAL PARK SERVICE.

Hosts BRENDAN FRANCIS NEWNAM and RICO GAGLIANO are hosting a kickoff party for the episode on JUNE 24th at LASSEN VOLCANIC NATIONAL PARK in northern CALIFORNIA, the day after the episode posts, and they will be encouraging listeners to hold their own outdoor listening parties with the help of a downloadable party kit with recipes (including one from fellow APM podcast host FRANCIS LAM of "THE SPLENDID TABLE"), tips, and a curated playlist for the episode from SYLVAN ESSO.  Listeners can submit photos of their own parties to the show for possible use at the JUNE 24th party.
