The 27th Annual City Of Hope Celebrity Softball Game Sees Highest-Ever Attendance Numbers

The 27th annual CITY OF HOPE CELEBRITY SOFTBALL GAME was held this past SATURDAY (6/10) as part of the CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL weekend festivities (NET NEWS 4/26). The event reached its highest-ever attendance numbers at FIRST TENNESSEE PARK downtown, which is home to the NASHVILLE SOUNDS minor league baseball team.
TEAM iHEART won the game 9-6 over TEAM OPRY. Highlights of the event included REBA MCENTIRE's performance of the National Anthem; a surprise appearance by MOTLEY CRUE's VINCE NEIL, who threw out the first pitch; newly-launched play-by-play by Country artist LEE GREENWOOD, JEANNIE SEELY, and TIM RUSHLOW along with iHEARTMEDIA/NASHVILLE SVP/Programming GATOR HARRISON; and an appearance by CITY OF HOPE patient and Leukemia survivor, NICOLE SCHULZ, who met her life-saving donor, RIAN LAWRENCE, for the first time ever on the pitcher's mound. STAPLES, which presented the event, made a check presentation for $500,000 to CITY OF HOPE during the game.
