WILLIE NELSON, NEIL YOUNG, JOHN MELLENCAMP, DAVE MATTHEWS, JACK JOHNSON, THE AVETT BROTHERS, SHERYL CROW, JAMEY JOHNSON, and more are set to headline "FARM AID," the annual charity concert that has raised over $50 million since its 1985 inaugural show. The fundraiser is set to take place SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th at BURGETTSTOWN, PA's KEYBANK PAVILION.
"Family farm agriculture is the heart of PENNSYLVANIA," said NELSON. "What's happening in western PENNSYLVANIA and the region shows us that we can count on family farmers to strengthen our communities and connect people. Whether we live in rural or urban places, food — and music — brings us all together."
The event will mark YOUNG’s first performance since the BRIDGE SCHOOL BENEFIT last OCTOBER. He cancelled an appearance at the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME to induct PEARL JAM (DAVID LETTERMAN took over) and a planned AUSTRALIA tour amid rumors of bad health. FARM AID was last held in BURGETTSTOWN (about 25 miles west of PITTSBURGH) in 2002. Tickets go on sale FRIDAY, JUNE 23rd at 10a (local time).
