Husband Of Murdered WOND/Atlantic City, NJ Host Arrested On Weapons Charges

The unsolved 2012 murder of LONGPORT MEDIA Talk WOND-A/ATLANTIC CITY, NJ weekend show co-host APRIL KAUFFMAN has returned to the headlines with the arrest of the host's husband on a weapons charge after a standoff, but prosecutors say that the arrest is unrelated to her murder.

Police executed a search warrant at Dr. JAMES M. KAUFFMAN's office in EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ TUESDAY morning, only to be confronted by the doctor brandishing a handgun.  After a 45 minute negotiation, KAUFFMAN, 69, surrendered and was taken into custody.  He was charged with weapons possession violations and obstruction with the administration of law.

APRIL KAUFFMAN, co-host of the "KING ARTHUR SHOW" with ARTHUR GROPPER on SUNDAYS on WOND, was found dead at her home in LINWOOD, NJ in MAY 2012.  She had been shot several times.  No suspect to date has been charged with her murder.
