Veteran Internet radio broadcaster ROCKIE THOMAS has been named Business Development Mgr. of BID4SPOTS, an online reverse auction marketplace for unsold radio ad inventory. THOMAS is charged with overseeing the launch of the company's new Internet Radio Division, which will use BID4SPOTS' patent-pending reverse auction model to facilitate buying and selling advertising for independent online radio.
THOMAS most recently served as Director/Sales & Marketing for Internet radio software and services provider SPACIAL AUDIO SOLUTIONS. Before that she managed Internet strategies for several terrestrial radio companies, including NRC BROADCASTING, EMMIS and AMFM/CHANCELLOR.
"No one knows more about the independent online broadcasting community, and there’s no better person to oversee this initiative to help advertisers and Internet broadcasters connect with each other in an open marketplace," said BID4SPOTS CEO DAVE NEWMARK. "This is the perfect complement to our terrestrial model, and we’re thrilled to have ROCKIE at the helm."
THOMAS said, "I was intrigued when I first learned of BID4SPOTS reverse auction for terrestrial radio, so I asked DAVE NEWMARK if he would adapt the platform for Internet radio. The industry is ready for a solution that will make it easy and cost-effective for advertisers to buy -- and broadcasters to sell -- airtime during Internet broadcasts. Speaking as a broadcaster myself, I know that the online radio stations will embrace this innovative approach. It’s great to be part of a company that is committed to radio in all its forms."
