BMG is set to begin consolidation of its publishing and recording staff from across its two NASHVILLE offices, as well as BMG's newly-acquired BBR MUSIC GROUP staff (NET NEWS 1/30), in one location on MUSIC ROW. The three staffs will be joined in a soon-to-be-constructed, state-of-the-art building located at 1 Music Circle South in NASHVILLE, the former site of the COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION (CMA); the building will be renamed to the BMG BUILDING.
The new BMG BUILDING will include office space, songwriter/recording rooms, performance spaces, a collaborative floor plan, A/V meeting spaces and conference rooms, and a large communal outdoor terrace for live events. BMG's NASHVILLE operations includes approximately 80 employees in A&R, accounting, administration, income tracking, marketing, publicity, radio promotions, royalties, and sync licensing, joining with BBR MUSIC GROUP label imprints BROKEN BOW RECORDS, RED BOW RECORDS, STONEY CREEK RECORDS, and WHEELHOUSE RECORDS.
"Music publishing and recording have traditionally been viewed and operated as separate businesses, in separate offices, often in separate cities," said BMG NASHVILLE EVP KOS WEAVER. "The value of having the entire BMG NASHVILLE staff in one locale is immeasurable and enables us to utilize the expertise across all our departments, with open lines of communication, creating a distinct edge for our artists and songwriters." Added BBR MUSIC GROUP EVP JON LOBA, "The importance of staying on MUSIC ROW and honoring the ideal of supportive, tight-knit, and collaborative community was a priority to us all. Reflective of our shared philosophy and approach, this will maximize our team's and our partners' connectivity."
