Five Corus News-Talk Stations To Simulcast Global News Canada Day Special

GLOBAL NEWS' coverage of SATURDAY's milestone CANADA DAY celebrating the nation's 150th birthday will include a special live broadcast that will air not only on the GLOBAL TV network but on five CORUS News-Talk outlets as well.
The show, with remarks from PRINCE CHARLES, Prime Minister JUSTIN TRUDEAU, Governor General DAVID JOHNSTON, and others, and a special performance by U2's BONO and THE EDGE, will be broadcast 11a-2p (ET) on television, with coverage of the official celebration on PARLIAMENT HILL in OTTAWA and other locations across the country and in LONDON's TRAFALGAR SQUARE, and will be hosted by "THE WEST BLOCK" host and OTTAWA Bureau Chief VASSY KAPELOS and Chief Political Correspondent DAVID AKIN. On radio, the show will air on News-Talk CKNW-A/VANCOUVER, CHQR-A (NEWS TALK 770)/CALGARY, CHED-A/EDMONTON, CFPL-A (AM 980)/LONDON, ON, and CHML-A/HAMILTON. In addition, Top 40 CKQB (JUMP! 106.9) and Classic Hits CJOT (BOOM 99.7)/OTTAWA will participate in the festivities in the nation's capital, on site at PARLIAMENT HILL and other locations for the weeklong events.

Besides GLOBAL and the sister CORUS radio outlets, the show will air on all-news cable channel BC-1, CORUS CTV affiliate CHEX-TV/PETERBOROUGH, ON and CTV and GLOBAL NEWS affiliate CKWS-TV/KINGSTON, ON, and GLOBAL-CTV affiliate CJON-DT (NTV)/NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR.
