Director JARED LETO and his band THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS will launch an ambitious film project, "A Day In The Life Of AMERICA," a filmed portrait of the country that will capture 24 hours in the life of the U.S.A. on INDEPENDENCE DAY this year, JULY 4th, 2017.
There will be crews filming in all 50 states, the DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA and PUERTO RICO on that day, but LETO and the band are also inviting fans, filmmakers and everyone else in the country to submit crowdsourced footage they shoot that day.

Said LETO, "It's an incredibly important time in our country and we are excited for people to film what they feel is important, impactful, challenging or inspiring. Whether it's a single shot, a person, an event, or a story -- we want to see your AMERICA. The birth of a child, the end of a life, the sunset, the sunrise, politicians, immigrants, a sky diver, a firefighter, heroes and villains, and every race, color and creed that make up the fabric of our nation. And of course -- celebration and fireworks. THIRTY SECONDS TO MARS is looking forward to you helping us capture AMERI8CA in all its imperfect glory and epic beauty and to celebrate the spirit of this great nation in an unforgettable way."
People can submit their videos by posting content on social using the hashtag #ADayInTheLifeOfAmerica or by visiting www.ThirtySecondstoMars.us.
The band recently confirmed rumors that they will release their highly anticipated new album this year.
