SACRED HEART UNIVERSITY's WSTC-A/STAMFORD, CT has reverted to a simulcast of noncommercial News-Talk WSHU-A/WESTPORT, CT after its LMA to VGR RADIO AGENCY, LLC was terminated due to non-payment, reports the STAMFORD ADVOCATE.
VGR programmed the station with Adult Standards via the LMA since MAY 2016, but WSHU Communications Director JANICE PORTENTOSO told the paper that VGR had not paid its LMA fee for six months.
"As a non-profit, listener-supported organization, we take our fiscal responsibilities very seriously,” the ADVOCATE quoted WSHU GM GEORGE LOMBARDI as saying. “We are accountable to the listeners and organizations whose financial support represents the largest segment of our budget. We could no longer continue with this arrangement where VGR was not honoring the financial terms of our agreement.”
