Country Songwriter Earl Cranston Clark Dies At 70

Country songwriter EARL CRANSTON CLARK passed away at his home in SMYRNA, TN on FRIDAY, JULY 7th. He was 70.
CLARK got his start in the industry driving tour buses for ERNEST TUBB, WAYLON JENNINGS, JERRY READ, and others. He later went on to pen songs for everyone from GEORGE STRAIT to WILLIE NELSON and TIM MCGRAW to TRACY LAWRENCE. With LAWRENCE, CLARK found success in the early 1990s with singles "Can't Break It To My Heart" and "Renegades, Rebels, and Rogues." A member of the LUMBEE Indian Tribe, CLARK is known to be one of Country's most prolific NATIVE AMERICAN songwriters, with more than 80 songs published by BMI in NASHVILLE. Visitation and funeral services for CLARK will be held FRIDAY, JULY 14th at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY in CEDAR HILL, TN. Visitation will begin at 11a (CT) with funeral services to follow.
