BEASLEY MEDIA GROUP CHARLOTTE stations Country WSOC (NEW 1037), Top 40 WNKS (Kiss 95.1), AC WKQC (K 104.7), Urban AC WPEG (POWER 98 FM), Urban AC WBAV (V101.9) and Rock WBCN-A (94.7 SMOKE) recently partnered with local TEEN HEALTH CONNECTION to host the YOUTH TO YOUTH SOUTHERN STATES CONFERENCE EXTREME SKILL WORKSHOP on TUESDAY, JULY 18th at QUEENS COLLEGE in CHARLOTTE, NC.
The workshop was for teens ages 10-17 from across the CAROLINAS who are promoting a drug-free lifestyle. BEASLEY MEDIA CHARLOTTE's KRISTA STOUT and CHELE FASSIG hosted a session entitled “Social Impact Of Local Radio on Youth” with the group.
The goal of the all-day workshop was to teach the teens how local radio is combining social media into the radio stations and therefore, has the unique power to enhance and strengthen community participation, and create a positive message to help with cyberbullying, self-esteem, and encourage others to participate in their communities to make a difference.
Added BEASLEY's FASSIG, “Youth have the power to influence positive change. We in the radio industry have the unique opportunity to be able to share creative skill-building opportunities with our youth and generate positive communication by being influential role models in their lives.”
