CENLA Top 40 KQID(Q93)/ALEXANDRIA, LA wrapped up its three-day “Q Cares for Kids” Radiothon, amassing $76,445 for the local CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK.
PD RON ROBERTS, along with his morning co-hosts JEN KNIERY and ERIN REYNOLDS, spent three days broadcasting from CHRISTUS ST. FRANCIS CABRINI HOSPITAL in ALEXANDRIA, where they interviewed parents and children. They wrapped up the weekend with a benefit concert by independent artist MIKE COMFORT, whose song “Pledge” is a hit in the ALEXANDRIA market.
“We did about three times better than I imagined we would,” said ROBERTS, “but as much as the kids were fuel for us to do what we did, their stories apparently tugged at the hearts and wallets of CENTRAL LOUISIANA. We’re not only proud of our staff and our listeners, but we’re also pleased we could come through for the kids.”
