Cincinnati.com reports that NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY has sold its MIDDLETOWN, OH signal to GRANT COUNTY BROADCASTERS FOR $5.3 million. WNKN (105.9) was one of the stations in Triple A WNKU’s network.
GRANT COUNTY BROADCASTING President JEFF ZIESMANN said in a statement, “The company will convert the station back to a for-profit, commercial operation and is doing research that will determine the format that will present the best possible ratings and revenue opportunity for the station.”
LOUISVILLE PUBLIC MEDIA, which owns Triple A WFPK, had also made an offer for the single.
Earlier in the year, NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY sold the main station, WNKU, to the BIBLE BROADCASTING NETWORK. Both ownership turnovers await FCC approval. (see story here).
