BILL MARIMOW, who was recently demoted from VP/News to Ombudsman at NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO, has resigned that post to return to the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER as Editor.
MARIMOW, who replaces AMANDA BENNETT, won PULITZER Prizes in 1978 and 1985 while a reporter for the INQUIRER, which was sold by KNIGHT-RIDDER along with sister daily tabloid the PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS to a local group headed by local PR executive BRIAN TIERNEY earlier this year. He later served as Editor at the BALTIMORE SUN before joining NPR. BENNETT will stay at the INQUIRER through the end of the year and will contribute occasional columns after that.
