WKSC (103.5 Kiss FM)/Chicago's Erik Zackery Chosen As One Of The Hosts Of The New TRL On MTV

iHEARTMEDIA Top 40 WKSC (103.5 KISS FM)/CHICAGO night slammer ERIK ZACKERY has been tapped to host a revamped "TOTAL REQUEST LIVE" SHOW on MTV. He will continue his radio show in THE WINDY CITY.

Another of 5 hosts is slated to be rapper and comedian DC YOUNG FLY. The rest of the hosts have not been unveiled.

MTV Pres. CHRIS MCCARTHY told THE NEW YORK TIMES late last week that the iconic show that brought so many stars -- and viewers -- to NEW YORK's TIMES SQUARE, would return in OCTOBER, and that a "massive studio was under construction in the hope of capturing the old magic. If we’re going to come back and reinvent MTV, the studio is a given,” he said. “It is the centerpiece.”

REPUBLIC RECORDS Pres. CHARLIE WALK weighed in on the return of the iconic show, telling the paper that in recent years MTV had abandoned the music business and that bringing “TRL” back was a big step in the right direction.
