CLEAR CHANNEL Rocker WGIR/MANCHESTER, NH, along with sister News/Talk WGIR-AM, THE MORNING BUZZ, and the MANCHESTER MONARCHS hockey club, helped to raise over $55,000 this past weekend to benefit the family of slain MANCHESTER police officer MICHAEL BRIGGS, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on OCTOBER 16th. Funds were raised through a number of different efforts, including a game-worn jersey auction at SATURDAY's MONARCHS game, online donations, on-air auction, and various raffles throughout the course of the week.
PD ALEX JAMES said, "We are very proud to serve the MANCHESTER community. Fans of WGIR and the MANCHESTER MONARCHS stepped up when we needed them the most. Their efforts and generosity will go a long way to help the BRIGGS family for years to come."
