WGOW-F/Chattanooga Host Jim Reynolds Arrested After Domestic Incident

CUMULUS News-Talk WGOW-F (TALK RADIO 102.3)/CHATTANOOGA "THE MORNING PRESS" host JIM "J.R." REYNOLDS faces aggravated assault and aggravated child abuse charges after a domestic incident WEDNESDAY night (8/2), reports ABC affiliate WTVC (NEWSCHANNEL 9)/CHATTANOOGA.

The station reports that police responded to a possible domestic violence call to find REYNOLDS' wife and two children standing at the roadside; REYNOLDS' wife told police that she, her husband, and their oldest daughter had been in an altercation over the daughter's phone use and a fight between the two daughters, and that REYNOLDS had grabbed and pushed the older daughter, who said he grabbed her around the neck and pinched her nose closed before pushing her into a couch.  The police say REYNOLDS denied the account but added that he pushed the older daughter onto her bed.

REYNOLDS released a statement to WTVC saying, "Obviously it's unfortunate and I've embarrassed myself, my family, and the places I work and are affiliated with.   I don't believe I was out of control and was disciplining a 12-year-old, my 12-year-old daughter whom I love dearly.  The police officer asked me if I put my hands on her, I said I did, and he said when that happens, it's definition of domestic violence."
