SPOTIFY has just unveiled the new RAPCAVIAR, a one-stop-shop to discover the best in hip-hop. Every FRIDAY, the enhanced RAPCAVIAR combines the top songs and video to bring hip-hop heads closer to the music they love.
"The new RAPCAVIAR is all about connecting the fans to the culture," said SPOTIFY's Global Programming Head Of Hip-Hop TUMA BASA. "It’s not just about the songs. It’s about the work that goes into the tracks, the visual representations and the greater context behind these moments in time.”
To celebrate the new RAPCAVIAR and hip-hop’s global success, with over seven million followers and counting, SPOTIFY looked at the numbers behind the genre, and found that DRAKE and THE WEEKND dominate with the most-streamed songs in hip-hop of all time. DRAKE’s “One Dance” tops the list at #1, followed by THE WEEKND's “Starboy” and “Can’t Feel My Face.”
LIL UZI VERT's "XO TOUR Llif3" is #1 on the list of the Top 20 Most-Streamed RAPCAVIAR Hip-Hop Songs of the past three months, followed by MIGOS' "Slippery" f/GUCCI MANE and TRAVIS SCOTT's "Butterfly Effect."
Predictably, the U.S. listens to more hip-hop than any other country, followed by GERMANY, GREAT BRITAIN, MEXICO and FRANCE. HOLLYWOOD, FL, is the #1 U.S. city for streaming hip-hop, followed by DETROIT, POMONA, CA; THE BRONX, NY; and ONTARIO, CA.
