JULY was another month of incremental growth for Country radio in the just-released PPM monthlies, according to NIELSEN AUDIO. The format grew 7.8-7.9 among persons 6+ from JUNE to JULY and is up strong from JULY 2016, when it posted a 7.2 share in PPM markets. It was a similar story on the format's traditional target demo, 25-54, where shares also inched upwards by a tenth (7.5-7.6) month-to-month. Among 18-34 listeners, Country remained steady from JUNE to JULY (8.7-8.7) but is much stronger than levels from a year ago; JULY 2016 18-34 shares were 8.2.
As NIELSEN said in its monthly INSIGHTS analysis, "2017 is playing out (so far) to be a resilient year for the format." See the report here.
