CLEARWATER COMMUNICATIONS, INC. is selling Adult Hits WKTJ-F (BIG HITS 99.3 KTJ)/FARMINGTON, ME to JAMES TALBOTT's KATAHDIN COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $525,000.
In other filings with the FCC, CONNOISSEUR MEDIA LICENSES, LLC has applied for an STA to operate Sports WNJE-A (920 THE JERSEY)/TRENTON, NJ with reduced power of 250 watts nondirectional "due to an undiagnosed failure of detuning apparatus on an adjacent communications tower causing monitoring points to exceed licensed maxima."
CLAMOR BROADCASTING NETWORK, INC. has filed for an STA to operate Spanish Religion WJVP (CLAMOR 89.3)/CULEBRA, PR at a temporary site with reduced power after losing its lease; the station claims that other tenants blamed it for the smell of its diesel generator, and that a bullet was fired into the transmitter building and acid thrown at the guy lines.
HISPANIC FAMILY CHRISTIAN NETWORK, INC. has requested Silent STAs for K278CA/EL DORADO HILLS, CA and K247BX/GRASS VALLEY, CA after it lost its transmitter site.
And WEBER STATE UNIVERSITY has closed on the sale of Silent noncommercial KWCR-F/OGDEN, UT to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $100,000.
The FCC also dismissed EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION's Petition for Reconsideration of the grant of a new LPFM to RAZORCAKE/GORSKY PRESS, INC. on 92.7 FM in PASADENA, CA, co-channel to EMF's AIR 1 affiliate KYLA/FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA. EMF argued that the rule requiring second-adjacent-channel interference waivers for LPFMs also applied to co-channel (and any other) stations, but the FCC did not read the rule the same way.
The Commission dismissed FLORIDA COMMUNITY RADIO's Petition for Reconsideration of the dismissal of its challenge to the assignment of its application for a new noncommercial FM at OTTER CREEK, FL to mutually-exclusive status with another application by CITRUS COUNTY ASSOCIATION FOR RETARDED CITIZENS and the tentative selection of the latter for the permit; the petition was late by a day and the Commission dismissed it, and has also dismissed the appeal.
And the Commission added two more Notices of Unlicensed Operation to the list of pirate FM warnings, sending notices to ROGER BAILEY (101.1 FM, NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL) and JEAN AMILCAR (107.3 FM, WEST PALM BEACH).
