LMA Turns Into Sale Of WRNI-A/Providence

After a five-year LMA and option-to-buy led to a funding crisis, LATINO PUBLIC RADIO has finally filed with the FCC to buy Spanish Noncommercial WRNI-A/PROVIDENCE, RI from RHODE ISLAND PUBLIC RADIO for $400,000.  LPR has brokered the station from RIPR since 2011; reports last NOVEMBER said that LPR had six months to raise the money to buy the station or RIPR would take the station dark and look for another buyer.

In other filings with the FCC, PENGUIN RADIO, LLC is selling K280BZ/WENATCHEE, WA to FRANK OSBORN's HUSKY BROADCASTING, LLC for $1,500.  The primary station is CHERRY CREEK RADIO Hot AC KWWW-F (KW3)/QUINCY, WA.

FLAGLER BROADCASTING, LLC has applied for an STA to operate News-Talk WNZF-A/BUNNELL, FL at reduced power with its 1 kw auxiliary transmitter while its main transmitter is repaired or replaced.

And NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY has closed on the sale of Triple A WNKU/HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, KY-CINCINNATI, OH to BIBLE BROADCAST CORP. for $1.9 million.
