The UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA is launching a new 24/7 digital streaming audio channel with iHEARTRADIO, "USF BULLS UNLIMITED." The station, offering game broadcasts, coaches shows, and replays of classic games, starts this SATURDAY (8/26) at noon (ET) with a rebroadcast of the first USF BULLS football game from SEPTEMBER 6, 1997 against KENTUCKY WESLEYAN, and additional original programming and a replay of the first USF FOOTBALL RADIO SHOW with CHARLIE STRONG will lead into coverage of USF's game against SAN JOSE STATE, starting with a pre-game show at 5:30p (ET). Market radio veteran DAREK SHARP will oversee the day-to-day operation.
"We are very excited to team with our partners at TBEP to launch this new channel for Bulls fans," said USF Director of Athletics MARK HARLAN. "This is really unique in college athletics to deliver live events, coaches shows, archived replays of great games and original athletics programming across the spectrum of all our sports and have it available wherever BULLS fans may be in the world free of charge."
"More than a quarter century ago, I was fortunate to get in on the ground floor of this thing called sports talk radio," said SHARP, also the voice of the ARENA FOOTBALL LEAGUE's TAMPA BAY STORM and a producer/anchor at Sports WDAE-A/TAMPA. "I'm getting that same sense of thrill and anticipation to start USF BULLS UNLIMITED. This is going to be big. I've always been proud to cover TAMPA BAY sports, but this will be unprecedented as far as the amount of coverage -- and I mean every sport, believe me. BULLS fans, get ready. And get used to my voice!"
