WESTWOOD ONE NEWS DALLAS correspondent ALAN SCAIA has been covering HURRICANE HARVEY for the network all WEEK, on scene at landfall in CORPUS CHRISTI, and then in HOUSTON for reports on the flooding and devastation there. SCAIA has been filing reports for WESTWOOD ONE's "AMERICA IN THE MORNING" and "FIRST LIGHT," as well as custom live reports for affiliates, doing 33 custom live shots on MONDAY (8/28) alone. SCAIA wasn't alone, though, as correspondent STEVE KASTENBAUM made it to TEXAS to provide additional coverage; both SCAIA and KASTENBAUM are still on the scene filing reports.
Three WESTWOOD ONE 24-hour format affiliates were also fed special content aggregated from WESTWOOD ONE NEWS, local TV station websites, weather reports, and announcements from local officials, including law enforcement, safety bulletins, and PSAs from the AMERICAN RED CROSS.
And WESTWOOD ONE's syndicated Country evening show "THE LIA SHOW," which has always produced a custom show for COX MEDIA GROUP Country KKBQ (93Q)/HOUSTON, included HARVEY-related content in each break, with LIA KNIGHT offering news, weather, listener stories, and other information.
