Hockey podcast PUCK SOUP has left the NERDIST PODCAST NETWORK, and hosts DAVE LOZO and GREG WYSHYNSKI will continue the show independently.
The move was expected after the exit of "THE JONAH KERI PODCAST" to CBS SPORTS; KERI brought "PUCK SOUP" to NERDIST as part of what was intended to be a new "NERDIST SPORTS" vertical that never came to fruition. In a post at REDDIT, WYSHYNSKI said that while the NERDIST network was "lovely to us" and is allowing the show to keep its name and subscriber base, the show was also encountering problems with ad revenue, saying that "Getting compensation for those ads was an unfortunate headache (again, for various and sundry reasons) and we felt it was better to seek other opportunities based on that experience. No hard feelings. It’s just how the puck bounces sometimes."
LOZO, a writer for THE COMEBACK, THE ATHLETIC, and, formerly, VICE SPORTS, also co-hosted the "BISCUITS" hockey podcast for VICE SPORTS with SEAN "DOWN GOES BROWN" MCINDOE last season and co-hosts "ASK A CLEAN PERSON" with JOLIE KERR. WYSHYNSKI, of YAHOO! SPORTS' PUCK DADDY, co-hosts MAREK VS. WYSHYNSKI for SPORTSNET and YAHOO!.
