MSG NETWORKS has made official what has been rumored for some time, announcing that ED COHEN will be the new radio play-by-play voice of NEW YORK KNICKS basketball. COHEN, who has called NEW YORK LIBERTY WNBA basketball and NEW YORK COSMOS soccer for MSG and has called RUTGERS women's basketball and MANHATTAN COLLEGE men's basketball and will join returning analyst BRENDAN BROWN for the calls on ESPN Sports WEPN-F (ESPN NEW YORK 98.7FM)/NEW YORK, replaces MIKE CRISPINO, whose contract was not renewed.
“ED is an exceptional young voice with incredible versatility, and we’re excited to welcome him as radio play-by-play announcer for the NEW YORK KNICKS,” said MSG NETWORKS SVP/Production and Programming/Exec. Producer JEFF FILIPPI. “Fans will really enjoy his play-by-play and his rapport with analyst BRENDAN BROWN.”
“I’m incredibly excited and grateful to be joining the MSG and KNICKS family,” said COHEN. “As a lifelong New Yorker who grew up not far from where the KNICKS practice, it’s a broadcasting dream come true to now have a seat in the radio booth, and I’m thrilled to do it alongside BRENDAN BROWN. I can’t wait to get started and see what the coming years bring for the franchise.”
