The paperwork for the sale of 20 stations by ALPHA MEDIA LICENSEE LLC to DICK BROADCASTING COMPANY, INC. OF TENNESSEE has been filed, and the price, previously undisclosed, shows up as $19.5 million -- $14.5 million for the GREENVILLE and MYRTLE BEACH clusters and $5 million for the SAVANNAH-HILTON HEAD stations -- plus an LMA starting SEPTEMBER 25th. However, only the GREENVILLE and MYRTLE BEACH cluster paperwork has been filed; the contract indicates that the filing for SAVANNAH-HILTON HEAD will be made on AUGUST 1, 2019 with closing at the end of that year.
The stations in the present filing include Sports WRNS-A (960 THE BULL) and Country WRNS-F/KINSTON, NC; Top 40 WERO (BOB 93.3)/WASHINGTON, NC; Active Rock WXQR-F (ROCK 105.5) and Country WQSL (92.3 THE WOLF)/JACKSONVILLE, NC; Country WQZL (101.1 THE WOLF)/BELHAVEN, NC; Adult Standards WANG-A/HAVELOCK, NC; Alternative WKZQ-F/FORESTBROOK, SC; Classic Hip-Hop WRNN-A-W288DK (G105), Classic Rock WYAV (WAVE 104.1), and Top 40 WMYB (ENERGY 92.1)/MYRTLE BEACH, SC; and News-Talk WRNN-F/SOCASTEE, NC. To be filed in 2019 are Active Rock WFXH-F (ROCK 106.1) and Triple A WHHW-A-W228CI (AM 1130/FM 93.5 THE ISLAND)/HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC; Classic Country WGCO (98.3 HANK FM)/MIDWAY, GA; Country WUBB (NEW COUNTRY BOB 106.9)/BLUFFTON, SC; Classic Hits WRWN (REWIND 107.9)/PORT ROYAL, SC; and Classic Hip-Hop WXYY (G100.1)/RINCON, GA.
In other filings with the FCC, SOUND MANAGEMENT, LLC is selling Hot AC WNDV (U93)/SOUTH BEND, IN; Classic Rock WYXX (ROCK 97.7)/GOSHEN, IN; and '80s WYET/NEW CARLISLE, IN to ARTISTIC MEDIA PARTNERS, INC. for $3.4 million. ARTHUR A. ANGOTTI, ARTHUR A. ANGOTTI III, and STEVEN ISENBERG have attributable interests in both the seller and buyer. The stations were sold by ARTISTIC MEDIA PARTNERS to SOUND MANAGEMENT for $3.5 million in 2015.
iHEARTMEDIA's CLEAR CHANNEL BROADCASTING LICENSES, INC. has filed for an STA to operate News-Talk WIOD-A/MIAMI with an emergency antenna at 25% of licensed power and nondirectionally due to damage from Hurricane Irma.
SAGA QUAD STATES COMMUNICATIONS, LLC has applied for an STA to operate WSPO/CHARLESTON, SC with emergency reduced power from its daytime site due to storm surge damage to the nighttime array from the remnants of Hurricane Irma.
ANDALA ENTERPRISES, INC. has requested a Silent STA for WNWF/DESTIN, FL due to damage from Hurricane Irma.
EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has filed for an STA to operate Contemporary Christian KLRW (K-LOVE)/BYRNE, TX at reduced power because the voltage standing wave ration is too high.
CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS, INC. has applied for an extension of its Silent STA for K220FY/SITKA, AK while it negotiates a new tower lease.
And AMERICAN GENERAL MEDIA's AGM NEVADA has closed on the spinoff sales of Regional Mexican KJFA-F (LA JEFA)/ALBUQUERQUE and Top 40 KDLW (Z106.3)/LOS LUNAS from its UNIVISION deal in ALBUQUERQUE, with KJFA going to VANGUARD MEDIA and KDLW to BB BROADCASTING LLC.
The Commission also issued Notices of Unlicensed Operation to alleged pirate station operators RICHARD CLOUDEN (101.3 FM in BOSTON); QUINTON JOSEPH (105.3 FM in DORCHESTER, MA); TALYA ANDREA LANTZ (101.3 FM in BOSTON); YVON GRANDCHAMPS (104.7 FM in MATTAPAN, MA); and MICHELLE JOSEPH (105.3 FM in DORCHESTER, MA).
