THE MARCUS KING BAND will launch its hoped-to-be annual FAMILY REUNION events at PISGAH BREWING CO. in BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC. The two-day music festival will take place OCTOBER 6th & 7th.
The Festival has just announced that FRIDAY NIGHT will feature sets from BLACKBERRY SMOKE, THE MARCUS KING BAND, JAIMOE'S JASSZ BAND, BIG SOMETHING, NATIONAL RESERVE and GABRIEL KELLEY. SATURDAY will feature performances by THE MARCUS KING BAND & FAMILY, DAVID SHAW, MUDDY MAGNOLIAS, GEORGE PORTER JR., RON HOLLOWAY BAND, THAT'S WHAT'S UP, TRAVERS BROTHERSHIP, LEAH BLEVINS and PEOPLE'S BLUES OF RICHMOND.
Remembering family reunions growing up KING said. "I remember these gatherings were always the happiest time for me as a kid. A stress-free environment where you are free to love the people you're around. That's the aesthetic we want to bring to our festival. Community and happiness. There are no separate agendas being forced on anyone. Just an all-around good time."
A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold will benefit two local non-profits near and dear to THE MARCUS KING BAND: CANNABIS FORWARD, a Greenville-based organization that raises awareness of the medical benefits of marijuana, and MENTAL HEALTH AMERICA OF GREENVILLE COUNTY, an organization that positively impacts mental health through advocacy, awareness and service.
