CUMULUS News-Talk WVLK-A-W247CT/LEXINGTON, KY midday host LEE CRUSE has exited the station.
The LEXINGTON HERALD-LEADER reports that CRUSE told VP/Market Manager SCOTT FRAZIER that he had become overbooked due to his morning news and midday co-hosting responsibilities at crosstown CORDILLERA COMMUNICATIONS NBC affiliate WLEX-TV(LEX 18). CRUSE's 10a-noon (CT) radio spot will be taken beginning TODAY with two hours of WESTWOOD ONE's CHRIS PLANTE.
Also at WVLK, LARRY GLOVER will move from 6-8p (CT) to middays noon-3p. GLOVER, the former minor league baseball LEXINGTON LEGENDS radio voice, joined WVLK for evenings in 2008.
FRAZIER said, “We are very excited to have LARRY GLOVER join our midday lineup on News Talk 590 WVLK. I've always believed that LARRY possessed the ability to reach beyond the world of sports talk to offer entertaining and informative commentary on a broad range of topics. He will now have that opportunity and I think our listeners will love what they hear!”
PD/Afternoon host KRUSER added, "For many years, LARRY GLOVER has been a staple of the NEWS TALK 590 WVLK lineup. Over that time, he has proven to be an authoritative voice on U.K. sports and sports of all sorts. But he's also shown versatility on news matters and politics. That mix will be valuable in the Noon to 3p position. And it will be good for WVLK to be local in that time slot again."
