PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES radio color commentator LARRY ANDERSEN told the PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER's MATT GELB that he will cut back on travel next season, indicating that his next contract will call for him to announce fewer games.
ANDERSEN, the former major league pitcher and half of the PHILLIES' popular radio team with SCOTT FRANZKE on CBS RADIO Sports WIP/PHILADELPHIA, told GELB, “It doesn’t matter if this team was going to the World Series or was going to finish in last. It had nothing to do with the baseball aspect of it. It was more just a personal decision that, in my waning years, I wanted to do some things while I was above ground.”
FRANZKE and L.A. have been paired on the PHILLIES' radio network since 2007.
