Shortly before 4a (CT), heritage Rocker WRNO/NEW ORLEANS aired "The End" by THE DOORS, and with that came the end of an era. After 37 years as a Rock station, WRNO flipped to News/Talk as "THE NEW 995FM.COM." The station’s dot-com name is a representation of its commitment to a truly interactive experience for the listener.
As explained in the official mission statement posted at www.thenew995fm.com, the station is committed to providing listeners with everything they need to know on the radio at 99.5 FM and on demand at thenew995fm.com.
Earlier today, just after MIDNIGHT (CT), Urban/Gospel KHEV flipped its format to Rock. The new 104.1 has assumed WRNO’s legendary positioner "The Rock Of New Orleans," presenting a more contemporary version of the previous WRNO. Core acts on the new 104.1 include PEARL JAM, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, NIRVANA and GREEN DAY.
