The FCC database is bereft of new station transactions TUESDAY morning (9/19), but shows several filings from stations which have gone silent or seek Special Temporary Authority to operate at variance with their licensed facilities, some due to the effects of Hurricane Irma.
Requesting Silent STAs were LANCASTER EDUCATIONAL BROADCAST SERVICE (KLQS-LP/AGUA DULCE, CA, transmitter problems); TURQUOISE BROADCASTING COMPANY, LLC (K281AZ/SEWARD, AK, loss of programming source); and VIRGIN ISLANDS PUBLIC BROADCASTING SYSTEM (WTJX-F/CHARLOTTE AMALIE, ST. THOMAS, VI, studio destroyed and grid power lost in Hurricane Irma);
Filing for extensions of Silent STAs were MID-WEST MANAGEMENT, INC. (W225AV/IRONWOOD, MI, while modifications are completed); CALIFORNIA FAMILY COUNSELING NETWORK, INC. (KCGV-LP/LEBEC, CA, "technical reasons"); SOUND COMMUNICATIONS, LLC (WGGO-A/SALAMANCA, NY, tower collapse); HISPANIC WOMEN OF POINCIANA CORP. (WJRQ-LP/POINCIANA, FL, transmission equipment failure); and ALPHA MEDIA LICENSEE LLC (K292FY/ANCHORAGE, AK, technical problems).
NORSAN CONSULTING & MANAGEMENT, LLC has applied for an STA to operate Tropical WNNR-A (LA RAZA 92.9)/JACKSONVILLE, FL nondirectionally with 25% power due to the loss of one of its two towers in Hurricane Irma.
TOWNSQUARE MEDIA SAN ANGELO LICENSE, LLC has requested an STA to operate Rock KNRX (96.5 THE ROCK)/STERLING CITY-SAN ANGELO, TX through its licensed booster KNRX-FM1/SAN ANGELO due to main transmitter failure.

And 321 CORPORATION has applied for an STA to operate AC WKQK-A (RADIO 1300)/COCOA BEACH, FL with reduced power due to damage from Hurricane Irma.
Also, SAGA COMMUNICATIONS has closed on the sale of a tower in MENOMONEE, WI to CTI TOWERS for an undisclosed price. MICHAEL J. BERGNER of BERGNER AND CO. was the exclusive broker for the deal.
