KMJ/Fresno All-Day Broadcast Raises $285,000 For Food Bank

CUMULUS News-Talk KMJ-A-F/FRESNO, agriculture company GAR TOOTELIAN INC., and FARM CREDIT raised $285,000 for FRESNO’s COMMUNITY FOOD BANK last FRIDAY (9/15) with a day-long broadcast at FRESNO’s MARKET GROCERY STORE.
Hosts JOHN BROESKE, CHRISTINA MUSSON, RAY APPLETON, CHRIS DANIEL, and PHILIP TERESI broadcast live from the site all day,with listeners donating almost $200,000 and GAR TOOTELIAN INC. matching each dollar with 50 cents of its own. The funds will pay for 2 million meals for the CENTRAL VALLEY’s needy; the event has raised over $650,000 for almost 5 million meals in four years.
COMMUNITY FOOD BANK CEO ANDY SOUZA said, "Words cannot express our gratitude to KMJ and GAR TOOTELIAN. With (GAR TOOTELIAN Managing Partners) GREG and KAREN MUSSON’s generous matching gift, and the outpouring of support from our community, we were able to raise $285,000. This will provide 2,000,000 meals to families in need throughout our local community."
KAREN MUSSON added, “We are honored to partner with the COMMUNITY FOOD BANK and help them provide healthy meals to individuals in the VALLEY struggling with hunger. And, we truly appreciate the support of VALLEY farmers, families and businesses that joined us on FRIDAY to provide 2 million meals.”
