The slow pace of radio station transactions continued at the FCC, with only an internal family transfer on the docket, plus several STA filings showing up in WEDNESDAY's activity.
In the sole change of ownership interests appearing in the database TODAY, JOHN HAMMOND has transferred half of HAMMOND BROADCASTING, LLC, licensee of South Asian KHSE-A (FUNASIA 700 AM)/WYLIE-DALLAS, TX, to his wife LINDA HAMMOND with no written agreement.
Applying for Silent STAs were SANTA MARIA VALLEY MEDIA MINISTRY (KYGS-LP/NIPOMO, CA, financial difficulties related to cost of operating at present site) and BIRACH BROADCASTING CORPORATION (WPON-A/WALLED LAKE, MI, delays in building permanent facility due to "unforeseen dispute with the land owner").
Requesting extensions of existing Silent STAs were MID-AMERICA RADIO GROUP, INC. (WLZT/WORTHINGTON, IN, while it moves to permanent facilities) and CSN INTERNATIONAL (W244DF/LOGANSPORT, IN, technical difficulties).
LAMAR UNIVERSITY has filed for an STA to operate KVLU/BEAUMONT, TX with less than 1% of licensed power due to Hurricane Harvey flooding.
And SALEM MEDIA OF ILLINOIS, LLC has applied for an STA to operate Religion KKHT-F (100.7 THE WORD)/LUMBERTON-HOUSTON, TX from a main studio outside the permitted area (in HOUSTON) due to damage to its regular studio from Hurricane Harvey.
