JOHN WEBSTER, the longtime former morning co-host and newsman on WMJI (MAJIC 105.7)/CLEVELAND, has passed away after hip surgery in FLORIDA at 74, reports iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WTAM-A/CLEVELAND. WEBSTER's stepson JASON FOX told WTAM that WEBSTER died during recovery from the surgery and noted that the lack of power and air conditioning after Hurricane Irma hit WEBSTER's area may have played a role in WEBSTER's passing.
Best remembered as JOHN LANIGAN's newsman and partner for "LANIGAN AND WEBSTER" (and, later, "LANIGAN, WEBSTER, AND MALONE" with JIMMY MALONE) at WMJI in 1984-97 and as part of "WILLS, WEBSTER AND COLEMAN" with BILL WILLS and the late CASEY COLEMAN on WTAM in 1998-2001, WEBSTER also worked at WERE-A with GARY DEE and WHK-A with DEE and DON IMUS.
