The FCC reauthorization bill is moving forward with a markup in the House Communications and Technology Subcommittee scheduled for WEDNESDAY (10/11).
“This reauthorization and reform measure is long overdue. The FCC, the agency charged with administering the Communications Act and other statutes vital to the functioning of our communications policy, has not been reauthorized since 1990. Yet, its current appropriation is over $430 million. As Americans increasingly depend on technology in daily life, we are ensuring the FCC is more transparent and ready to meet the communications needs of today’s consumers,” said Chairman MARSHA BLACKBURN (D-TN).
